Mothers Day 2012 – Another One Without My Earthly Mom

Mothers Day 2012 is coming up on May 13th.  It is another one without having my earthly mom to spoil or celebrate with.  It will actually be the 29th one for me.    

Has it been hard?  You bet it has.  My mom missed out on meeting my husband, seeing me get married, meeting her two wonderful grandkids, and so much more.  I remember my dad coming up to the hospital after I had my first child, and wishing my mom could be there to see him.  So did I.

Mothers Day has always been a bittersweet day for me, wanting to celebrate being a mother myself, yet feeling a void in not being able to call or stop by and see my mom to wish her a happy Mothers Day.

If you have lost a mother, I”m sure you can understand.  You don’t just “get over” something like that.   You think about all the things she has missed, and all the times you wanted to pick up the phone and ask her for some advice.

If you still have your mom, spoil her this Mothers Day!  Let her know how blessed you are to have her in your life.

Mothers Day 2012 will, yes, be another one without Mom.  But I”m thankful for having her as a mom and all the love she gave us kids when she was here.  I know she’s happy where she is now, and that helps.  But, I still miss her:-)
