Bosses Day (or Boss’s Day)  Comments (0)

Monday, October 17th is bosses day – the day you can show your boss some special recognition.  Bosses work hard as they manage the workflow and deal with employee issues.  If you have a boss who you feel does their job well, it might be a nice gesture to give them a gift to say  “thanks.”

What kind of gift can you give to bosses?  It will depend on whether they are a male or female, but here are some suggestions.

  • A gift certificate to their favorite bookstore or restaurant
  • A nice gift basket filled with goodies
  • Take them out to lunch
  • Flowers
  • Candy

It doesn’t matter that much just what the gift is, but what matters more is the fact that you are showing them you appreciate them.  That will mean the world to them.

Good bosses are sometimes hard to come by, so if you have one, let them know it!

Christian Gift Baskets  Comments (0)

At Gift Expressions, we have added a few Christian gift baskets to our line of products and hope to soon be adding more.   I have to be honest – I just love all of the baskets, but Christian gift baskets have a special place in my heart.   I feel that offering words of hope and encouragement is so important, and what better way than to package it all up pretty in a basket?

God said His Word will not return to Him void, so I believe whenever we share His Word, whether it is by speaking or on a mug or in a card, it does good.

Christian gift baskets can be more than a gift.  They can be a source of encouragement to the recipient and brighten their day with hope and joy!

Here is one of my favorites – The Footprints in the Sand basket.  Here’s what you get:

  • A “Footprints in the Sand” ceramic mug (16 oz.) that features the poem (see below)
  • Tazo tea
  • Walkers shortbread butter cookies
  • Cafe’ Latte Barista blend
  • Gourmet coffee hard candy
  • Assorted Biscotti
  • Wolfgang-Puck European style coffee
  • Tiramisu flavored cream-filled wafers
  • Handmade vanilla caramels
  • A sweet and salty snack mix

The Date To Create  Comments (0)

August 8th is the “date to create.”  What do you like to create?  Great dinners?  Scrapbooks?  Greeting cards?

I love to create gift baskets, which makes this business so fitting for me:-)  It’s a bonus when you can take something you love to do and turn it into a business.  But even if you don’t want to do that, creating something is a lot of fun.  It gives you a feeling of accomplishment.

What do you enjoy creating?  Please share!

Best Friends Gift  Comments (0)

Are you looking for a different but usable best friends gift?  Best friends are not that easy to come by, and if you have one, treat her well.  Let her know how much her friendship means to you.

Does your friend have a birthday or special day coming up?  Even if she doesn’t, consider sending her a “just because we’re best friends” gift.  This beautiful basket says it all.

She will get a lovely keepsake friendship frame plus lots of goodies!  Click on the picture to see the details.

Get Well Soon Gift Baskets  Comments (0)

We have added some really nice “get well soon” gift baskets to our line.  A gift basket makes a great gift to send someone who isn’t feeling well or who is recuperating.   It’s cheerful and full of goodies they can enjoy!

If you live a distance from the person, it can be delivered right to their door.  Take a look at his adorable basket, “Bounce Back Jack!”  “Jack” comes wearing a bathrobe and fuzzy slippers, and brings a whole bunch of goodies with him!

Borders Going Out of Business  Comments (0)

Borders going out of business?  Yes it’s true.  I am so saddened when I hear of companies going out of business, and Borders is no different.  I have shopped there quite a bit over the years, and will miss it.

Borders always had a nice feel to it.  It was small enough to be somewhat personal, and there was one quite near my house, so it was very convenient to go there.

They not only had books.  They had DVDs, games, journals, and of late, they had a cafe where you could sit down, have something to drink, and browse through some books.  We bought our nephews Christmas gifts there last year, so there was always a reason to visit them.

Borders, I”m sorry to see you go!

Wedding Gift Baskets  Comments (0)

We just added a couple of wedding gift baskets to our line, with more to come!  Do you have any weddings coming up this summer?  We have a couple in September.

Giving one of our wedding gift baskets will really make your gift stand out.  Many people will give money, some will give toasters, blenders (is that still very common?) and various other practical things, which make great gifts.  However, by giving one of our baskets, you will be providing that special “couple time” to the newleyweds.  And that is something they will really appreciate.

Take a look at our unique wedding gifts and give a gift that will be remembered for a long time!

National Ice Cream Day  Comments (0)

Sunday, July 17th is “National Ice Cream Day.”  I think that’s  the perfect time of the year as mid-July is usually very warm.  And what tastes better on a very warm day than some ice cream!

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?  My all-time favorite is Pralines and Cream, which you don’t find too often.  Baskin and Robbins has it (or at least they did – I haven’t been there in quite a while.)  But it’s hard to come by, so when I see it, I usually have to stop and have some:-)

Our favorite ice cream place is Bruesters.  Do you have one where you live?  Their ice cream is very creamy and they have lots of great flavors – you can always find something you like.

Ok, your turn.  Share with us your favorite ice cream shop and flavor!

Creative Gift Wrapping  Comments (0)

I have noticed lately more and more creative gift wrapping.  It used to be all about the gift – what was inside.  But, in my opinion, it’s become almost as much about the wrapping as it is the gift.

It used to be a box wrapped in wrapping paper.  That was the standard way to give a gift.

Today, it might be everything gets put in a gift basket, a bag, or gift box.    And the fancier the better.   I just put together a gift for my mother-in-law and bought a really cute bag.  Then I color coordinated some tissue paper and put it in and it made the gift seem so much more special.  We gave her a pretty mug with a Scripture verse on it and a cute plastic box of eight tea bags – four different flavors.  It was a nice gift, but the wrapping made it much nicer.

Some stores offer gift wrapping as a service to their customers.    I just purchased a bridal shower gift, and they offered to gift wrap it for me.   I took them up on it, however, they put it in a bag with some tissue paper on top.  I wanted it to look a little nicer, so we re-wrapped it at home in some nice silver paper.   My daughter put on some pretty flowers instead of a bow.

Creative gift wrapping is a lovely way to present a gift.   With a little imagination, you can do a beautiful job!
